  • Filling Fluids to Proper Levels
  • Windshield Wiper Replacement
  • Brake Services

In fact, the pros at AllStarr Car Care can perform all these services and more in the same day. There’s no need to let your vehicle leave you stranded or to spend Christmas Eve in a waiting room. Let us prepare your vehicle for the hard winter roads ahead.

Special Savings for the Month of December 2020

During the entire month of December, AllStarr Car Care & Brakes will honor a free tire rotation on all standard vehicles. However, this special excludes large SUVs and trucks. Just come in and mention this blog for your outstanding savings! No purchase necessary.

This is our gift to you, in addition to our other advertised specials. Our experienced technician will perform a complete brake inspection and four-wheel rotation to ensure all systems are working properly. We will also adjust your tire pressure to prepare for the cold mornings.

Safe Driving on Winter Roads Starts with Vehicle Brakes and Tires

Winter weather can bring more than misery when it comes to safe driving in West Virginia. As temperatures drop and freeze, light rain can turn wet roads into black ice in a flash. While winter weather and freezing may sometimes be unpredictable, being safe on the road starts with your vehicle.

Checking on brakes and tires is an essential part of winter driving and accident prevention. Regular checks, of course, are important throughout the year. Winter hazards, though, can really put them to the test. And it is the time of year when you least want to be stranded out in the cold.

Road and Winter Emergency Vehicle Kits

It is a good time to talk with fellow drivers and passengers about winter driving habits and road safety. The National Safety Council suggests including the following items in your vehicle emergency kit. The items in bold are especially important for winter emergencies:

  • A properly inflated spare tire, wheel wrench and tripod jack
  • Jumper cables
  • Tool kit and/or a multipurpose utility tool
  • Flashlight and extra batteries
  • Reflective triangles and brightly colored cloth to make your vehicle more visible
  • Compass
  • First aid kit with gauze, tape, bandages, antibiotic ointment, aspirin, a blanket, nonlatex gloves, scissors, hydrocortisone, thermometer, tweezers, and instant cold compress
  • Nonperishable, high-energy foods, such as unsalted nuts, dried fruits and hard candy
  • Drinking water
  • Reflective vest, in case you need to walk to get help
  • Car charger for your cell phone
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Duct tape
  • Rain poncho
  • Additional items for cold weather include a snow brush, shovel, windshield washer fluid, warm clothing, cat litter for traction and blankets*
