Do You Love Your Vehicle?

Visit AllStarr Car Care & Brakes to Show Your Vehicle Some Love

AllStarr Car Care & Brakes asks the question, “Do you love your vehicle?” Whether your vehicle is one of the newest on the road or one handed down for generations, it is special to you! Why not show your vehicle some love? Let’s take a little time to count the many ways we might do just that.

Most people depend on their vehicle on a daily basis. Without one, things become very difficult. Even if you do not use your car every day of the week, there are benefits to regular maintenance visits.

Love Your Vehicle with Some Routine Maintenance

There are many routine maintenance services to recommend on a regular basis. These services include:

  • Oil changes at regular intervals,
  • Consistent tire rotations,
  • Fluid exchanges based on time and mileage,
  • Replacing filters when contaminated, and
  • Keeping the braking system in working order.

No guilt if you, like many of us, are not the best at keeping up with these routine maintenance services. Your vehicle may not need every part of the routine maintenance listed above, but these are good to check. Now, during the month of February, is the perfect time to show your vehicle some love.

Love Your Vehicle’s Engine with a Regular Oil Change

You may already know that a regular oil change is a necessary part of proper engine performance. The oil change includes installing a new engine oil filter, draining old engine oil, and replacing it with clean oil. Some of the benefits you may see include a cleaner engine, longer life, lower emissions, better mileage, and better overall performance.

Tire Rotation for Safer Travel for You and Your Loved Ones

Performing tire rotation on your vehicle may occur every 5,000 miles, or as often an oil change. Check your manufacturer to be sure, or rely on us at AllStarr Car Care & Brakes for this maintenance. Tire rotation gives our mechanic the opportunity to inspect the tires for tread depth, any damage, check for proper air pressure, and rebalance if you notice vibration while driving. Here are a few reasons why tire rotation is important:

First, tire rotation maximizes tread life by spreading wear evenly across all four tires. Second, even tread wear keeps tread depth uniform. This helps with traction and consistent handling. Third, if you have all-wheel drive, even tire wear reduces stress on the drivetrain. You will find it much easier to rotate tires than pay for repairs on more-expensive drive components.

Fluid Exchange is an Important Way to Love Your Vehicle

A regular regimen of fluid exchange is another important way to show your vehicle some love. We talked about engine oil earlier, and we will mention brake fluid in just a bit. There are other fluids in your vehicle that will benefit from maintenance. Depending on your vehicle, these can include:

  • Air Conditioning Coolant
  • Differential Fluid
  • Power Steering Fluid
  • Radiator Fluid
  • Transmission Fluid
  • Window Washer Fluid

The dependable operation of these systems in your vehicle does depend on the right amount of clean, quality fluids. Let us know if you have any performance issues in working any of these systems. Our technicians at AllStarr Car Care & Brakes work to ensure each of these fluid levels are good to go!

Replace Filters to Help with Airflow and Performance

As with fluids, there are additional filters in your vehicle that have important jobs to do:

Air Filters – keep clean air going into the engine. These usually have a screen to help remove such contaminants as bugs, water, road grime, pollen, and other debris that blows in through the grill.

Cabin Filters – these purify the air inside the vehicle for the driver and passengers as part of the ventilation system. Cabin filters also remove much of the same contaminants as air filters – dust, pollen, and allergens. These can affect passengers as well as the A/C system itself.

Oil Filters – these ensure that contaminants like debris and dirt stay out of the oil and your engine parts.

Fuel Filters – a fuel filter helps eliminate dirt, grime, and water that may come from fuel distribution. Is your vehicle sluggish? It may be time to replace the fuel filter for better performance.

See this article from DriversEd.com for more on these important filters, then speak with us at AllStarr Car Care for prompt maintenance.

Love Your Vehicle with a Brake System Check

AllStarr Car Care loves our customers, and we really love to see each one enjoying their vehicles safely. This is especially true when it comes to your vehicle’s brake system. The braking system has parts that deteriorate over time.

Pay attention to warning lights, noises such as squealing, grabbing, vibration, and low or hard pedal feel. Also look for excessive brake dust or metal flakes on the wheels. These all indicate the need to check your brake system.

Various conditions and road chemicals can cause parts to wear and erode lines that carry brake fluid. Use alone will place wear on critical parts of the brake system. You can show love to your vehicle, yourself, and passengers by checking the braking system at least once a year.

Beyond Your Vehicle, Love One Another Every Day

We should also love one another. February often emphasizes love on a special day, but the Lord asks that we love one another daily.

“As I have loved you, love one another.” John 13:34

We continue to rebuild our communities and get through the difficulties 2020 brought on. Please continue to love one another and help each other. We are all in this together. Give your worries to the Lord and always put Him first in everything you do.

The staff at AllStarr Car Care loves you!
